So I’ve started a free on line class over at JessicaSprague.com titled stories in hand. It’s really inspired me in many areas so far. It’s inspired me in scrapbooking again, in my blogging venture, and in my journaling. quite simply…it’s exactly what i need at this stage in my life. i hope it will help me in recording the precious memories the girls are making, as well as my husband and i. we tend to overlook ourselves and our need to be together and alone quite often…due to that, I’ve decided to start writing to him more and sharing my heart with him that way. whether it’s via emails to work, stickies on the mirror, or phone messages in his voice mail. i want to talk to him more. my words have value, and how & when i choose to use them is so important to our relationship.
I’m not sure if you can still sign up, but jump over there and try! I’m so excited to see what this class will help me achieve in becoming creative as well as documenting my mind.
we’re on day 4, and each day gets better than the last! tomorrow we’re starting the writing process, and i’ll try and fill you in a bit more on that as i learn!
ok, so i’m editing todays post to include more! LOL. i’m SUPER excited to share with you all that i’ve printed a few of my digital scrapbooking pages! i was inspired by all the printing i was doing for the class listed above….and, well, lets jus say i’m SUPER happy with how it’s turning out! no, i don’t have a 12×12 printer, but i’m doing it all in 8×8, and LOVE it! i’m really thinking about changing my scrapbooking size to 8.5×11 and just putting them into page protectors and into binders. they’re beautiful, they’re crisp, and exactly what i expected! hop over to my digital scrapbooking page over on the sidebar….check out some pages i’ve posted there! thanks for sharing my excitement with me!
another new topic…as many of you know, oprah is on a clean up your messy house tour. along with that, she’s joined snapfish in giving out a free photobookfor her viewers! it expires tomorrow (friday), so be sure to head over there and create one real quick! i really hope i find the time to head over there yet and see what i can come up with in such a short amount of time! hmm…i’m thinking a 2007 year in review book….or a 0-3 months baby book for ali. oh the possibilities!
i’ve been really blessed to be a part of planning a monthly ladies church event. we’ve given ourselves (or the program) the name of G.R.O.W. (Giving and Receiving Outreach for Women).
our program runs from october thru march, with december off. we meet on the last tuesday of each month, for different activities. things we’ve done include, chocoalte making, cookie exchange, christmas card class, volunteering at a local mission, scrapbooking class, wood craft class, annual tea, and new for this year, we’ve planned a one day retreat.
my heart has always longed to reach out to women who are in my season of life, to encourage and uplift each other. being a part of this program has helped me build friendships that hopefully do just that. i’ve received so many blessings from others thru this program, and love the interaction i see taking place amongst the women when we meet.
our church assembly would be considered small to most, and has around 120 in attendance each sunday. it’s a young church, with a large sunday school attandance. i grew up in this church, and am excited to have my children be able to attend the programs they offer for children as well! (more on that in another post for next month!)
our first event was last night! we offer 8 christmas cards in our class. something i never do at home anymore, so it was SO fun getting creative! i’ve included some pictures of the cards for inspiration!
what do you enjoy being a part of in your church or community? are you a participant or a planner?
