we had a great weekend together as a family!  we spent some time with friends on friday nite (halloween).  we both don’t enjoy all the hype on celebrating a holiday that’s over commercialized, and enjoyed a quiet evening together!

saturday we had some fun at home.  the husband fixed the required fixes for the safety on the van, and we went out and got it ’saftied’ and registered.  my mom was here to look after the kiddo’s while baby slept.  SO VERY APPRECIATED when mom can come over on the drop of a hat and help out!  LOVE it when she is so willing to help!  she stayed for lunch, and after lunch the two oldest girlies and i went grocery shopping and got water.  later we came home and hung out for a while.  friends called for supper, and we headed out for 6.30.  ended up having to move to a second restaurant before we where able to get food, as the first one we tried had some kitchen issues just after we got seated.  we waited much longer for food than we could handle, as baby was getting cranky for her crib at that point.  we managed to finish our meal, and headed straight home and got the baby into her crib.

sunday we got up a little earlier than usual, and got to have a really relaxed morning getting ready for church!  we did remember to change our clocks tho, so we didn’t end up at church too early!  :-)   had an uplifting message, and came home for lunch.  mom and dad came for lunch, and we had pot roast, potatoes, carrots and gravy.  delicious.  made some coffee to have with some beinenstich for dessert.  ohhhlaalala!  dh went to the rc flying field for a bit to watch some friends fly with the two oldest girlies, while baby and i stayed home and wrestled her to sleep.  she did get a bit of a nap in before they came home and started the whole NASCAR marathon (well, just watching for a few hours, like regular….but it’s always a marathon for me as i can NOT sit through that many laps!).  i took the girlies for a ride into town and drove down some new developments and spent some time at a favorite park, and ended up at the husbands parents place.  visited for a while and came home.  it was a pleasant surprise to hear some friends had called to invite us over for the evening.  so we ate some snacky supper things and headed over there!  fun fun!

home to bed for the kindy kid, and the working husband.  :-)   what did you do, and did you enjoy it?  i love weekends, but i’m also always thankful for the routine of monday’s.  monday’s are my recovering day.  the baby can catch up on sleep, and get a regular routine in, and i can try and pick up the house from a weekend of slacking!

happy monday all!  :-)
