Just in case you missed my previous post on the biggest debate in our home the last few months, you can find it here.
well, the verdict is in, and the purchase has been made!
we now are the proud owners of a 2001 montana. aren’t ya proud of me?
well, i’m just sick today. i don’t have any creative spirit or sharing spirit.
hope you all hop over here again tmorrow, when i will have so much more to say (i don’t promise it’ll be useful tho!)
toodles till then!
today i wanna walk down memory lane. lets talk about toys! when i think about toys from my childhood, my mind jumps into overdrive! i don’t know if i would say i had a favorite, but the ones i always fell back on, and played with the most would have to be my barbies. i also loved my charmkins and pound puppies.
i don’t have any pictures of my old toys, tho i do still have some lying around, and my girls play with many of them. what where your favorite childhood toys?
i’ve been really blessed to be a part of planning a monthly ladies church event. we’ve given ourselves (or the program) the name of G.R.O.W. (Giving and Receiving Outreach for Women).
our program runs from october thru march, with december off. we meet on the last tuesday of each month, for different activities. things we’ve done include, chocoalte making, cookie exchange, christmas card class, volunteering at a local mission, scrapbooking class, wood craft class, annual tea, and new for this year, we’ve planned a one day retreat.
my heart has always longed to reach out to women who are in my season of life, to encourage and uplift each other. being a part of this program has helped me build friendships that hopefully do just that. i’ve received so many blessings from others thru this program, and love the interaction i see taking place amongst the women when we meet.
our church assembly would be considered small to most, and has around 120 in attendance each sunday. it’s a young church, with a large sunday school attandance. i grew up in this church, and am excited to have my children be able to attend the programs they offer for children as well! (more on that in another post for next month!)
our first event was last night! we offer 8 christmas cards in our class. something i never do at home anymore, so it was SO fun getting creative! i’ve included some pictures of the cards for inspiration!
what do you enjoy being a part of in your church or community? are you a participant or a planner?
credits for products: cardstock is all CTMH, stamps are both CTMH and Stampin’ up, ink is all CTMH, ribbon is CTMH, and brads are misc. cardstock, ink and ribbon colors are all outdoor denim, heavenly blue, and indian corn blue. also used a white inkpad. card designs come from a magazine, but it wasn’t mine so i don’t know the name of it. it had nine cards created from a certain number of cardstock pieces with the measurements and everything there! great resource…sorry i don’t have it at home tho!

so what do you do with your carrots this time of year? do you try to make as many carroty things as possible?
i’ve made some wonderful muffins, and delic. creamy soup!
today i’ll leave you with the recipe i used for making soup! let me know how yours turns out (whatever you’re deciding to do with carrots this time of year!) taken from our church cookbook called Welcome to our Kitchen – submitted by Tina Elias
Carrot Soup (creamy)
14-16 cups water
1 link sausage (chopped into coins)
1 tbsp peppercorns
8-10 bay leaves
6-8 star aniseed
5 lb. carrots chopped
8 lb. potatoes peeled and chopped
2 large onions
salt
5-6 tbsp chicken bouillon
1/2 cup parsley flakes
1 1/2 cups cream
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 – 3/4 cups flour
Boil water and meat for 1/2 – 3/4 hour. Add vegetables (NOTE: use LARGE STOCK POT) and spices. Cook till done/tender. Add cream milk and flour. (optional for cream soup) Bring to boil; simmer.
Note: i omitted the chicken bouillon and parsley flakes. I used less peppercorns, bayleaves and star aniseed. i used the creamy option, but cooked it a bit too long for the second round and my carrots mushed a bit.
here’s some shots of my process….just cause i love pictures in posts, not cause i think i did it the one and only way. make it your own!
thanks for stopping in for some delicious soup! sorry, i don’t have a finished product picture….it’s all been devoured!
this weekend proved to give us a few more amazing outdoor moments to enjoy the weather! (and then ended with some snow, but we don’t really wanna talk about that, LOL)
so…i took the opportunity to take the baby out for her own photo shoot! (she had just had her nap and was fed…unlike last time.
) the whole family went, helping me capture some cute smiles! we kept the hood on, as the wind was a touch too much for her…but it gives it a cuteness all it’s own, i feel anyway!
i’m now dreaming of 11×14 prints for my living room wall above the couch!
i think she did great! what do you think?

thanks for looking! i’m learning to use the manual settings on my camera…there are obvious still limitations, as it’s just a ‘point and shoot’…but it’s fun none-the-less!
happy monday to ya!
first of all, thanks to all of you who followed me here from there! i know just how it feels to have people change homes and have to change your favorites and bookmarked pages! highly annoying!
my evaluation conclution is that there are quite a few features here at wordpress that i’m SO excited about, and am using daily! (like posting a published post at a scheduled time, allowing me to post whenever knowing there will be new posts popping up on my blog!) i’m not sure whether the next comment is a pro or con, but i know there’s much more available allowing me to customize my page with sidebars, backgrounds and headers! i’ve got the basics down, and look forward to learning how to create my own using as i learn more about html.! i’m also excited about the added pages i can use to help me categorize my favorites!
so, for this saturday, i’ll leave you with a new WELCOME! i’ve put on the coffee and hot water. help yourself to your favorite beverage, and stay a while!
again, thanks for joining me here, let me know you’re sticking around with me! leave me some love!

thursday, out of the blue, i ask the girls if they would be willing to give me smiles if we would go over to the other yard to take some pictures. i had caught them while playing with playdough, so i was unsure of their reply. oldest dd piped up right away and said “sure!” she continued on with “are they going to be nice pictures? ’cause we really should have some nice pictures.” to which i chuckled. of course my vision in my head as to what i wanted was ’nice’, but whether we would actually be able to acheive it, i was uncertian! it was pretty much baby dd’s afternoon nap time, so we hurried out the door.
as i drove up the drive way of the other yard, i was a little hesitant. there was so much junk lying around, i couldn’t seem to find a spot that met my vision i had had in my head. well, we got out and found our first spot by the old house. i took some shots there. (all photo’s are edited using microsoft digital image suite and have been altered in size for ease in uploading and posting)

next we made our way over to the garage and had a little fun there…

after that i thought we should head out as baby dd was CRYING and it was much to cold and windy for her to get out of the car. so we climbed in and started off the yard. then i spotted a chair. i stopped the car, and took turns with the girls in posing for me and in holding baby dd in the car. i also thought this car and bumper might be fun!

there you have it! what’cha think, are they ‘nice’ pictures? LOL. i’m happy with them, tho some of the last ones aren’t quite focused like i would have liked, as baby DD was ready to get home into her crib!
thanks for looking!
<![CDATA[morning!

don’t hate me for bringing her up…just hold on a minute!
yeah, she seems ‘perfect’ and ‘overdone’. but really, is it possibly an envious feeling of hate we have towards her? i feel there should be no need for envy. take a quick glance at your life for a minute. i know you have some of the same characteristics already, and you have how many years of your life left to perfect the person God wants you to be!?! these amazing qualities don’t have to appear overnight. there is no place in proverbs where it says these she gained these qualities overnight! i’ve committed to studying this proverb for the next few weeks. i hope to read the passage every day, and open my heart and mind towards building characteristics like hers to my life!
i found this daily devotional on a website called revive our hearts. hop over there and have a look around! let me know if you join in! we can encourage each other! the daily reading is a script of their audio radio version! listen while you work!
this quote below really struck me:
“The heart of this passage is the woman’s heart. It’s her relationship with God, and out of that relationship comes flowing all the things that she does. It’s a picture of her character, her conduct, her priorities, her values, her daily routine, her marriage, her family life. But all of that flows out of the fact that here is a woman who has a reverence for God.
That reverence for God is at the core of who she is; it’s at the core of her being; it’s what defines her. And that reverence for God is what then expresses itself in all these different ways that we’re going to look at when we pick up in our next session with Proverbs chapter 31, verse 10. A virtuous, an excellent, and a noble woman, who can find? “
